Blossoming Elegance: Unveiling the Latest Wedding Floral Trends for 2024

The essence of a wedding often lies in the beauty of its floral arrangements. From bouquets to centerpieces, flowers play a pivotal role in setting the tone and ambiance of the celebration. Each year brings forth innovative trends that redefine the floral landscape, inspiring couples and florists alike to create breathtaking, personalized designs. As we step into the heart of wedding planning season, let's explore the latest floral trends captivating the hearts of soon-to-be-wedded couples.

Sustainable Floristry Takes Center Stage

In recent years, eco-consciousness has taken root in the wedding industry, influencing floral choices. Couples are leaning towards sustainable options, opting for locally sourced, seasonal blooms to reduce carbon footprints. Additionally, the use of reusable or biodegradable materials in floral arrangements, such as natural ribbons or recycled containers, reflects a growing commitment to environmental responsibility. We work with several farms here in Montana and other American grown farmers that reduce waste, decreases shipping time and costs and supports local growers in their dreams of flower farming.

Brighter and Bolder Color Palettes

A departure from traditional pastels, brighter and bolder floral palettes have gained traction. Bright pinks, bold blues, energizing orange and corals and more paired with lush greens create an air of drama and sophistication. Flowers like dahlias, peonies, scabiosa, ranunculus, hellebore and more add depth and intrigue to bouquets and decor, making a bold statement.

Textural Statement Blooms and Grasses

A trend that continues to gain momentum is the incorporation of textural florals florals and grasses. These elements bring texture, a touch of nostalgia, and a minimalistic, modern vibe to weddings. Dried miscanthus, dried bear grass and neutral florals add an ethereal, timeless allure to bouquets, arches, and tablescapes. Pampas grass is out but other types of indigenous grasses are in and we have a lot of these weddings on the books for 2024!

Transforming Your Space: Installations and Floral Experiences

Couples are embracing grand, statement floral installations to create awe-inspiring focal points. Floral chandeliers suspended above the reception area or ceremony space infuse an enchanting ambiance. These larger-than-life creations, adorned with cascading blooms and greenery, elevate the overall aesthetic and leave a lasting impression on guests.

Dutch Master Inspired Florals

Dutch Mastered florals are characterized by their opulent arrangements and textural diversity. Layers of blooms and foliage, carefully intertwined, create a sense of abundant luxury. Mixing different flower shapes and sizes—such as large, focal blooms with delicate filler flowers and cascading greenery—imbues arrangements with a multidimensional, painterly quality. For the couple looking for a bold option, this is it!

Tall and Impactful

We advise our couples to make impactful choices when it comes to florals. Better an interesting bar floral piece where your guests can come and get a drink and be inspired by the flowers than a bunch of bud vases all over. We would rather say good-bye to a bunch of florals in areas where people don't spend a bunch of time (guest book, card table, appetizer bar etc,) and go big in one area. Your guests (and self) will thank you for it.  It's perfect to place on tall columns or pillars and repurposing some of those ceremony flowers as well! You can create a great moment in your space without needing to suspend from the ceiling!

Single Stem Bridesmaids:

This one we’re really excited about! Now that the bridal party is embracing different types of dresses that bridesmaids get to choose, why not extend that further and embrace different florals! How fun would it be to have each bridesmaid carry an entire bouquet of one of the flowers from your bouquet? A bunch of cosmos, peonies, dahlias, anemones…. We could go on. So embrace it!

Unexpected Vessels

When designing a look for a wedding the vessel we put florals in makes a huge difference. Be it a round or long table, the options are endless! We are constantly adding to our inventory modern and unique containers that showcase your floral choices as well as give a great guest experience. We especially enjoy weddings with several different centerpiece designs and vessels. It brings more interest to the table and your guests can compare which table arrangement they like best!  With so many unique options out there, we are always inspired by what creators make. We especially like the idea of having custom containers made by a local ceramic artist that you can take home and have in your home to enjoy forever!

Non-Floral Accents

While we love flowers, we also love incorporating non-florals into the table. We've made moss and river rock centerpieces that broke up the lush arrangements that were on other tables while at a venue on the Yellowstone River. This would look great on a long farmstyle table and above create a stunning installation.

As the world of wedding floristry continues to evolve, these trends offer a myriad of opportunities for couples to express their individuality and style on their special day. Whether opting for sustainable choices, embracing moody palettes, or celebrating minimalism, the key lies in creating floral designs that resonate with the couple's vision, leaving an everlasting imprint of love and beauty on their wedding day.
